Piscobamba River Watershed Sovereign Bio Region project
Vilcabamba is a valley full of magical spots and with a tradition of longevity among its people. Now it's a hub for expats looking for a community off the matrix. Original inhabitants have a strong cultural pull towards natural farming and respecting the environment.
The objective of the Piscobamba River Watershed Bio Region project is to create a regenerative and sovereign watershed in the Vilcabamba area, revitalizing the economy and making it self sufficient.
How? Through entrepreneurship, innovation, use of holistic/organic farming practices, a seed bank, recycling program, with integrative physical and mental health options, conservation of rainwater, treatment of sewage water, construction with natural materials, microcredit, local token, community tourism and generation of energy.
These are the first projects already working:
- Ayni Agua is a project to establish locally the culture of rainwater conservation, that is in its early stage.
- Finca Sagrada project in cooperation with Swiss NGO Arbol con(n)razón to reforest Kuntur Wachana sacred mountain is moving rapidly, and
- Finca Sagrada's urban gardens project that started during Covid is takiing new force.
- We plan to establish in 2026 a Learning Center for our Bioregion, inspired in Joe Brewer's School for Regenerating Earth Methodology.
Invigorating local economy
This includes community agroecological gardens, providing living soil technologies to local farmers, entrepreneurship coaching, community-managed tourism and the creation of a local token.
Human well being
There exists the technology to keep people out of scarcity. We want to create a holistic physical / mental health dispensary, nutrition + cooking classes, and art therapy for teens and kids.
Sustainable living
Treat sewage water, make water retention wells, construction with adobe using peak technologies, hydropower, private internet service, integral recycling program and seed bank.
