About Me
If you come to the jungle with me, remember that I am not your guide. I am your local friend in Ecuador.
I was born in Ecuador in 1968 and studied and lived in the USA. I started a lifestyle magazine in Miami back in the early 2000s. Then I was the publisher of an Ecuadorian travel magazine specialized in responsible travel.
Part of my journey has been moving around Ecuador, reporting on travel with a positive impact. I owned Manso Boutique Hotel for many years in Guayaquil, and the place became a hub for the local arts and responsible travel in the area.

I am also a critical witness of Latin American reality and the region’s challenges in the face of modernization and extractive industries. I feel deep respect for the powerful and positive Indigenous presence in Ecuador’s national politics.
Regarding the left–right discussion, I really don’t see the world in terms of left and right. I think it’s more accurate now to see it in terms of localists and globalists.

I believe the world is freeing itself from an oppressive system that managed to keep humanity ignorant, disempowered, and sick for many years.
Everybody knows that. The debate now is whether they are simply greedy people or an alien race—whether they are groups conspiring against humanity or simply corporations looking to maximize their profit.
And it’s on these details that we’re divided, when deep down we all agree that humanity deserves a better world.
I hope never to lose the ability to discuss using logical arguments and to learn from those who have different points of view.
What I see is a silent and apocalyptic confrontation between the forces of evil and good—and I see that the light is prevailing.

I currently reside in Vilcabamba, southern Ecuador, and I am part of several initiatives to make this a regenerative bioregion grounded in agroecology, water stewardship, natural health, and cultural renewal.
I have three kids, whom I devotedly love. I’ll show you pictures of them when we become friends. I share my life with Oddi, the love of my life, my perfect female match.
I have an Instagram/TikTok channel called Filosofía Perenne 5.0 (Perennial Philosophy 5.0), whose purpose is to decode ancient wisdom and explain it in contemporary language.
I have a Substack column called Andes Punik. Punik means “wanderer” in Kichwa, and it’s targeted to people from all over the world who have chosen the Andes as their new home. I published my first novel in 2024 and am writing more titles.
My philosophy is aligned with the esoteric traditions of ancient cultures: We are all one, and life is a stage subordinate to our loving spiritual beings, part of a universal divine force of Love.
